Agriculture Project Research and Management Specialist
Dr Md. Abdur Razzaque have 42 years work experience in agricultural research and management, project management, project preparation and implementation, competitive research grants managements, extension activities, training management, policy development, training need assessment, monitoring & evaluation of research and extension activities in agriculture which he gained working with Sugarcane Research Institute, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Universities, Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), SAARC Agricultural Information Center (SAIC), World Bank (WB), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), USAID and CGIAR centers.
Dr. Razzaque is a senior professional with experience in leading organizations/projects/program in the research and development sectors with strong leadership capacity to implement strategic and targeted program. He is a candidate having capabilities and experienced in dealing with change to build internal and external relationship and look for new ways to obtain quality result and high standard of performance. He has proven senior management experience as well as experience of delivering program strategy within research and extension management. He has knowledge of the requirements of donor compliance and financial management including distance management. Excellent English and Bengali language proficiency (both written and verbal) and ability to travel to remote areas.
He is a highly experienced agronomist with proven leadership skills in management of agricultural research, rural development and agricultural extension activities. Solid and proven experience of leading a large team of research, extension and value chain management. He has acquired different hard and soft skills in the areas of project design, implementation strategy, monitoring & evaluation, impact assessment of multidisciplinary project covering crops, livestock, fisheries and value chain and food security/safety and nutritional activities. Designed balanced score card for monitoring, developed guidelines for competitive research grants and matching grants for strengthening research and extension activities.
Experienced in participatory research and extension; looking farmers’ needs from a systems perspective and leading teams of people with multiple technical and cultural backgrounds are some of my key strengths. He has promoted rural entrepreneurship in linking production and marketing of agricultural produce and value addition in agriculture. He has also tried to enrich my experience by delving into new areas of research, extension and supply chain management.
He has gained his experiences from working in a number of institutions and projects of which Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council, SAARC Agriculture Centre, Crop Diversification Project, Sugarcane Research Institute, National Agricultural Technology Projects, Bank and NARS institution are worth mentioning.
He has in his credit 93 publications (national & International Journal, proceedings, abstracts, books chapters, editor of books, reports etc.) which demonstrate my synthesizing, analytical and report writing ability and preparation of the policy documents. Moreover, he can work independently because he has work experience with Government, Non-government, National, Regional, International and UN Organizations. He has worked as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Principal Accounting Officer (PAO) in various positions which demonstrate my management capability. He is a self starter person.
