Mr. Hasan Ahmmed Chowdhury is a highly professional fisheries researcher, development professional and policy maker specializing in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management in the field of Fisheries Biology and Genetics, Marine Fisheries Resources Management, Food Safety and Quality Control. Professional expertise in Policy, Plan and Program development and Regulatory reformation; Freshwater Aquaculture, Coastal & Marine Resource Assessment, Conservation, Management and sustainable exploration, Community based Fisheries Management with effective implication of MSP/MFM, MCS, EAFM, IUU and application of ecosystem; Sectoral Program/Project Planning, National Plan of Action (NPOA) in the field of Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation; Livelihood Development; Food and Nutrition Security, Food Safety & Food Control Management, Food borne illness & Public Health issues and Trade Promotion.

During last 37 years of professional career mostly involved with the Donor Aided larger Investment Projects (BSCMFP-WB/GoB, BQSP-EU/UNIDO, FSP-FAO-UN, DSAP-USAID), JICA-FiLEP and other Technical Assistance, Research & Development Projects like- FAO-UN, WHO, WFP, UNDP, UNIDO, IJO, DFID, BAFRU, DANIDA, DUTCH-GKN, EU, USAID, USDA, USFDA, RVA, SIDA, NORAD, IFAD, ADB, World Bank and JICA.

Mr. Hasan played key roles as Sectoral Expert Member to different National, Regional and Global Forum and acted as National Focal Point, Team Leader or Representative to UN Bodies (WTO, FAO-UN-COFI, IUU-PSMA, CEFAS, WHO, IOTC, IORA, INFOFISH, IBJRC, FAO-RAP, JICA, ADB & WB).
