Horticulture Specialist

 

Ph.D (2009) and MSc (1994) in Horticulture from BAU, Mymensingh, Bangladesh.

An agricultural scientist with over 34 years of experience, specializing in horticulture, farming systems research and development, vegetables and vegetable seed production, GO-NGO collaboration in technology transfer, adaptive and delivery research, cropping systems agronomy, breeder seed production of BARI-developed crops and varieties, especially potato, pulses and nuts.

Worked in following studies:

  • Horticulture Specialist, In-depth Monitoring of “Research, Development and Extension of Cashew Nut and Coffee Project, DAE-BARI, assigned by IMED (December 2023 – May 2024)
  • Principal Investigator in CSISA-CIMMYT project at Faridpur hub Involving in different research and development activities with wheat and maize based cropping systems. Data collected, analyzed, reported and presented in seasonal and annual review workshop at hub and national level for its further improvement
  • Team Leader, BARI-GKF (a sister concern of Grameen Bank) collaboration program and  acted as expert member in seed production of different crops like vegetables, tuber crops cereals etc. in Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS), a reputed non-government organization (NGO).
  • Associate Team Ladder in BARI-GKF Collaboration Program executed in greater Rangpur and Dinajpur districts. Planned & executed different production program of different crops using improved/appropriate technologies with the credit facilities of GKF through this collaborative program. Identified researchable problems (immediate & long term) and feedback them to the respective research divisions/ wings/ center/ institutions. Conducted on-farm trials with the technologies generated by different research institutes for further fine-tuning of the said technologies. Collected, Processed, analyzed, reported and presented the collaborative activities in annual review workshop and different national seminar, symposium etc.

He has 40 publications in the national and renowned international journals.
